Description

Role
The University of Staffordshire Games Department are seeking an enthusiastic intern to be part of a team developing an exciting new project that focuses on creating a game to support vocabulary development.

 
This role will run alongside your current timetable, up to 8 hours per week with 20 hours p/week when off timetable, for up to 24 weeks.
 
You must be a current L5 0r L6 student with a high-quality online portfolio and good attendance for your application to be considered.
 

Duties and responsibilities
You will be expected to:

 
- Collaborate with a team to develop a game focusing on vocabulary development.
- Dedicate 8 hrs per week to refining and enhancing the game designs.
- Engage in regular team meetings to discuss project progress, overcome challenges and brainstorm innovative game mechanics.
- Work closely with mentors from the University of Staffordshire to polish the game.
- Ensure the game is prototype ready and can showcase proof of concept.
 
 

Skills and experience
You will need to have good understanding of game mechanics, level design, and player experience, with experience in using game engines. Knowledge of Blueprint is essential.

 
You will have a passion for games development and a collaborative mindset is essential.
 
You will be an excellent communicator and have the ability to work effectively in a team.
