Description
Role
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, Dr. Sangwoo Lee. We are seeking a Research Assistant to support an innovative research project investigating job quality premiums for university graduates across European countries. The successful candidate will work with large-scale survey datasets, conducting quantitative analysis using statistical software (Stata preferred). They will assist in data preparation, statistical analysis and the production of research outputs examining how educational attainment influences job quality across different European labour market contexts.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage own research and administrative activities, within guidelines provided by senior colleagues
- Manage, clean and present quantitative datasets from the European Working Conditions Survey (EWCS), Understanding Society (UK) and OECD ICTWSS database
- Conduct statistical analyses to examine job quality differences between graduate and non-graduate workers
- Prepare descriptive statistics and create data visualisations
- Document research procedures and maintain organised research records
- Support literature reviews on job quality and the returns to higher education
- Contribute to regular project team meetings and discussions
Skills and experience
Essential
- Master's level qualification in Economics, Social Sciences or equivalent research experience
- Strong quantitative research skills with proficiency in statistical software
- Experience handling large-scale survey datasets
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to meet research deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Knowledge of European labour markets and institutional frameworks (desirable)
- Familiarity with research on educational returns, human capital/capability theory, and economics of education (desirable

A hybrid working arrangement; Meetings can be conducted either in person (University of Warwick or London) or online, offering flexibility to suit project needs.
