This role is intended to provide marketing and data work experience to a recently graduated MDX graduates. You must be able to demonstrate the right to work for the duration of the work placement.
You will be responsible for supporting the Student Engagement and Advocacy team in their day-to - day activities aimed at improving alumni engagement and satisfaction. The role holder will be responsible for supporting the alumni team with general enquiries, and liaising directly with alumni across a variety of channels to provide a high level of customer service. You will support the team with various data inputting activities to ensure that the information that we hold about our alumni is accurate and up to date in line with the requirements of the general data protection regulation. You will also support the team in the planning and delivery of our campaigns and events.
The role is designed for you to support our team across all areas of our work so that you can gain experience and develop skills in the areas of data, engagement programmes, communications, and marketing.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Administrative Duties
- Facilitate the receipt and response to alumni queries through formal and informal channels, including shared responsibility for the UniHelp Alumni inbox.
- Assist with the production of alumni cards, leading the process on behalf of the team to ensure delivery within agreed timescales, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
2. Alumni Research
- Input and record alumni interactions and contact details into our alumni database to help grow a network of contactable and engaged alumni.
- Liaise with alumni to prepare content for social media, enhancing the reputation of both our alumni and Middlesex University.
- Identify relevant and engaged alumni to contact regarding giving-back opportunities.
3. Event Support & Designing
- Assist with the coordination and execution of events, supporting logistics, registration, and communication for both virtual and in-person events. Collaborate with teams to ensure event goals and timelines are met.
- Assist in creating visual content for social media, promotional materials, and event collateral.
- Work with the team to design brochures, flyers, and other marketing materials, ensuring consistency with the brand.
Skills and experience
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Recent graduate with a strong understanding of the student experience at Middlesex University.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach based on different audiences.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and the confidence to share them.
- Comfortable working with data, populating systems, and using data to make informed decisions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Strong written communication skills for digital platforms (e.g., website content, social media).
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Flexibility with time and work requirements to meet team and event needs.
- Familiarity with image and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Canva).
