Role

We are looking for a Research Assistant to play the part of a role actor as part of a research study in the Department of Psychology at the University of Warwick.

This is a short-term role of 20hrs which covers:

2 x 6-hour workdays meeting study participants (10am – 4pm), meeting four pairs of participants per hour.

8 paid hours to cover briefings, script learning, and debrief.

If more than one applicant is suitable for this role, there will be an interview stage. This will involve meeting with the project team and engaging in a role acting scenario. You will be supplied with a short script in advance of the interview to help you prepare.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Meeting study participants in a public place on the University of Warwick campus (for example one of the public cafés).
  • Engaging in script-based interactions with study participants.
  • Minor administrative work (for example checking off attendance of participants on a provided list).
  • Maintaining contact with Researcher.
  • Maintaining research integrity
  • Working within agreed health and safety protocols.

Skills and experience

  • ESSENTIAL - Presently a student at the University of Warwick.
  • ESSENTIAL- Previous experience of acting (e.g. Performing Arts student or drama qualification)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
