Description
Role
This project involves working with a group of psychologists, behavioural scientists and regulators who are exploring gambling behaviours and harms in large scale banking transaction data. The project is to support the research team in coding, data preparation and data visualisation.
Duties and responsibilities
Research assistant to:
- Re-structure, tidy and ‘productionise’ academic software for public release in support of academic articles
- Testing to ensure releasable code generates precisely the same results
- Preparation of datasets for validation and re-integration of validation corrections
- Adjustment and reformatting of software outputs publication including:
- Presentational adjustment of figures and data visualisations
- Reformatting and presentational adjustment of data tables
Skills and experience
The successful candidate must have strong coding skills. Specifically:
- Python experience [necessary] - Especially data analysis libraries (e.g., pandas/numpy), and visualisation libraries (e.g., seaborn/ matplotlib)
- Experience or willingness to learn SQL [necessary]
- R experience [strongly preferable]
- Git [strongly preferable]
- AWS [strongly preferable]
- Latex [preferable]
- Linux [preferable]
