Role

Research Assistants (IE FY), conducting projects to support the Foundation Year Programmes at WBS. We are seeking a number of team members to deliver the following four projects.

  1. FY Alumni network: Create an alumni network and develop a way to learn from each other.
  2. Pathways to employment: Create an event (e.g., employer panel or workshop with employers) and/or a resource (e.g., repository of employers supportive of the FY)
  3. The impact of FY donors: Prepare and lead a panel discussion with the current donors and create video on the impact of the donations on FY students.
  4. The story of the FY and its students:Create a short video or blog about the history of the WBS Foundation Year and its students.  This will involve interviews with staff and students.

Duties and responsibilities

We are seeking current or past WBS Foundation Year students to participate in one of the projects. The projects are part of the events related to the 10 Year Anniversary of the Foundation Year and will be showcased at the Celebration event on the 28th April 2025 at the Shard.

You will be working proactively and independently in a team, mentored by a member of WBS staff.

Skills and experience

Applicants requirement:

  1. Current or past WBS Foundation Year student
  2. Good communication skills  or good social media competence
  3. Highly motivated to produce a good outcome
  4. Motivated to and effective in working in a diverse team work
  5. Proactive and independent working
  6. Availability to work about 20 hours or more on the project from January – April
