Role

Unitemps are recruiting for a EDI Content Creator. This is a part-time role at 14.6 hours per week (2 days per week). This role is for a February 3rd 2025 start date and has a projected end date of July 25th 2025. Payment is set at £21.55 per hour + holiday pay. This role will be UCL campus based working.
 
The Faculty of Engineering is made up of 10 Departments spread across central London and East London. The individual will work alongside the Equality Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) Team.We are looking for an individual to who can update, maintain, and create content for EDI newsletters, focus articles, the EDI sharepoint, and website.The individual will be based in the main campus in central London

Duties and responsibilities

The role will involve planning, updating, collating, maintaining, and writing content for: 

  • EDI newsletters, 
  • updating the EDI sharepoint content, 
  • creating content for the EDI website as required, and for generating any EDI promotional materials. 

The role will also involve interviewing individuals for generating/updating content. 

The individual will be expected to liaise with relevant Staff for posting out content/newsletters/to specific UCL subgroups. 

The individual will also be expected to liaise with relevant individuals for the purpose of updating and maintaining an ongoing list of EDI events .

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • A Post-graduate in English language, Creative Writing, or Communications
  • Additional experience in Copy Writing
  • Flexible and creative in their writing skills
  • Experience of writing for different audiences
  • Experience of communicating EDI topics and the sensitivities involved
  • Experience of holding individual or group interviews and creating summaries
  • Experience of creating written content for newsletter and website formats
  • Maintaining confidentiality and awareness of regulations regarding secure handling of data./information
  • Experience of working within a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience of creative writingExperience of working in an academic/research setting
  • Experience of working on EDI contentExperience in newsletter, website design
  • Experience in working for a higher education establishment
