Role

An exciting opportunity to support the School of Archaeology and Ancient History and the School of Museum Studies in the re-naming of the building from ‘Archaeology and Ancient History Building’ to the Kathleen Kenyon Building’.  The ceremony will be held on 7th March 2025, 11am-1pm.  The student event assistants will help prepare exhibitions of various forms for the event, including recording videos (with support from UoL marketing), helping to set up exhibitions prior to the event itself, support staff on the day of the event and help to de-assemble exhibitions.  The student event assistants will work closely with academic and professional services staff to ensure the smooth running of the event. 

Students event assistants will gain experience in these areas: 

•Communication 

•Problem solving 

•Teamwork 

•Event planning and management 

•Exhibitions and displays

Duties and responsibilities
The role of the Student Events Assistant is to support with planning, set up and delivery of the exhibitions of different kinds and logistics required for the re-naming ceremony. Duties include: 

•Supporting staff with event planning and set-up 
•Welcoming and directing visitors 
•Providing support for the exhibitions 
•Gathering and creating material for exhibits 
Plus, other roles and responsibilities as delegated

Skills and experience

Essential:

•Current student or alumni of the School of Archaeology & Ancient History or the School of Museum Studies

Desirable:

•Experience in public-facing or customer service roles 

•Enthusiastic about heritage
