Role

An exciting opportunity to support University of Leicester Heritage Hub (https://le.ac.uk/research/natural-heritage/heritage-hub) events and programmes February – July 2024. These will include heritage events on campus and across the city and region. Some events will take place at weekends. Ambassadors will contribute to enhancing the profile and reputation of the University, working with heritage partners (e.g. museums and local heritage groups) helping new and diverse audiences to connect with the University’s heritage expertise and assets, including publicly accessible collections and archives.

Heritage Ambassadors will gain experience in these areas: 

•Communication 

•Problem solving 

•Teamwork 

•Event planning and management 

•Heritage projects and partnerships

Duties and responsibilities

The role of the Heritage Hub Student Ambassador is to support with planning, set up and delivery of heritage events and programmes. Duties include:

•Supporting staff with event planning and set-up 

•Welcoming and directing visitors 

•Providing support for information stands and hands-on activities 

•Taking visitors on tours 

Plus, other roles and responsibilities as delegated

Skills and experience

Essential: 

•Current student or alumni

Desirable: 

•Experience in public-facing or customer service roles 

•Enthusiastic about heritage

Location
On campus and across the city and region (travel expenses covered)
