Role

The Dean of Students Office is looking for a proactive and organised Project Co-ordinator to support the design and delivery of a diverse range of projects that enhance the student and staff experience. This role requires excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills, alongside the ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including academic staff, professional services teams, and students.

As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, to a high standard, and in alignment with institutional goals. You will work closely with the Senior Projects Officer and other Senior Management and will need to be adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident in managing multiple priorities at one time.

The successful candidate should also be a strong all-round communicator who can write engaging content for a range of audiences.

Pay per hour: £16.07-17.85 depending on skills and experience (£30,505-33,882 per annum)

Duties and responsibilities

  • Track and monitor progress against project plans, ensuring goals, timelines, milestones, and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including academic staff, professional services teams, and students.
  • Lead on the recruitment, training and supervision of a team of student staff.
  • Lead on the development, updating and maintenance of webpages.
  • Conduct desk-based research to inform projects, including researching and analysing internal and external good practice/reports.
  • Work closely with the Senior Projects Officer to plan and deliver a range of events to share good practice across the University.
  • Arrange meetings and training as required, including developing draft programmes, agendas and producing minutes.
  • Produce clear and concise project updates/reports, ensuring key decisions and actions are documented and communicated effectively.
  • Work in a collegiate manner that supports the wider work of the Dean of Students Office and undertake such duties appropriate with the grading of the role.

Skills and experience
Essential:

  • Project Skills: Experience in successfully supporting projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Organisation Skills: Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain focus on key objectives, and ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Networking and Relationship-Building: Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in creating engaging content for different audiences and channels.
  • Technology Skills: Strong IT skills, including confidence and experience using standard desktop applications and the ability to pick up new applications quickly. Experience of maintaining web pages is useful.
  • Independent working: Ability to use initiative and work autonomously whilst also being able to contribute effectively to a team environment.
  • Skilled administrator: High commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
Desirable: 
  • Knowledge of Higher Education: Familiarity with the HE sector is useful but not essential.
  • Experience of events: Supporting the delivery of small and large-scale events combined with an understanding of what factors can make events successful.
  • Supervision Experience: Experience of recruiting and supervising staff is useful but not essential.
