Student futures are recruiting dedicated and organised individuals to join our team as Student CV Assistants in the Careers and Employability CV Café Triage Team. This role involves providing one-to-one basic CV support to students and offering basic information about the Student Futures team. Candidates do not need any prior experience, as full training will be provided, but should bring a passion for supporting students to achieve their goals. Successful candidates for the role will support on a regular basis at either of two sites at the following times: The Student Life Building Tuesdays and Thursdays 2pm – 3:30pm and Byrom Street Tuesdays and Thursdays 2pm – 3pm.
Who we are:
Student Futures Careers and Employability Team at Liverpool John Moores University provides comprehensive support to students and graduates, helping them achieve their career aspirations. The team offers personalised careers advice and guidance, CV and application reviews and guidance on job searches, internships, and postgraduate opportunities. Student Futures also run workshops, webinars, and employer events to enhance employability skills. With dedicated Careers Zones in the Student Life Building and Byrom Street, the team ensures students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed in their career journeys.
Duties and responsibilities
- Offer one-to-one basic CV support to students during 15-minute appointments in a 'CV-cafe' format.
- Provide basic information about the Student Futures team.
Skills and experience
- A passion to support students with the development of their CVs and cover letters.
- A strong work ethic and to be a representative of the Student Futures team.
- A willingness to learn, plus offer a flexible, adaptable and professional approach to work.
- Knowledge of Careers and Employability is desirable.
- Effective communication skills are essential for the role.
- Excellent command of written English, focussing on spelling and grammar.
- You should be available for both initial training sessions.

Assisted Delivery Days:
Day 1: Thursday, 30th January
Day 2: Tuesday, 4th February
