THE ROLE
The directorate of Corporate Services at De Montfort University is looking to recruit an Information coordinator (Sustainable Development goals).
Expected start date: January 2025
Expected end date: July 2025
Expected interview date: TBC
Rate of pay: £ 13.49
Holiday Pay: £ 2.10
This role is an office-based role working Monday to Friday, 37 hours a week.
Duties and responsibilities
· Co-ordinate all aspects of data gathering within DMU’s UNAI SDG Impact Hub.
· Administrate finances for the SDG Impact Hub
· Help with event planning, include booking of rooms, catering, publicity and associated material for events.
· Provide regular impact and engagement reports on the hub’s activities.
· Co-ordinate the gathering of data, measuring impact, and stakeholder engagement in projects.
· Help in a range of engagement areas including students, academic colleagues and professional services staff.
· Help co-ordinate the UN SDG Impact Fellows programme to drive engagement in the Sustainable Development Goals
· Support the Education for Sustainable Development academic lead/Head of DMU Sustainability in datagathering and engagement for projects.
· Co-ordinate materials to promote opportunities to staff and students across DMU through various forms of engagement, including the development of marketing material, emails, and utilising social media.
· Organise and administrate the reporting of activities linked to the SDGs at DMU.
· On occasion, the post holder may be required to deliver brief knowledge-share presentations to stakeholders.
· Assist in the development of project plans.
· Help represent Sustainability and the UNAI SDG hub at DMU Open Days.
Reporting:
· Monitor sustainability strategy activity to ensure broad representation,by collecting data from individual projects and events to support the creation of impact evidence.
· Co-ordinate contact and stakeholder databases, ensuring that information is accurate and up-to-date.
· Provide accurate and timely information as required, including reports and basic statistical analyses.
· Keep up-to-date records of all activities.
General:
· Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the development and longevity of positive relationships between the Sustainability Strategy team, local networks and the wider university.
· Monitor budgets effectively and undertake the administration of financial processes. This will include the processing of invoices, expenses, and procurement requests.
· Update management on expenditure and provide reports as requested.
· Act as the first point of contact for queries, responding in a timely, polite, and professional manner at all times.
Perform any other duties commensurate with the job grade as reasonably required from time to time.Skills and experience
· Experience liaising with a large variety of people with different demands and expectations
· Experience in procurement and administration of financial data
· Experience in maintaining a database of contacts and stakeholders
· Knowledge of diverse communities
· Working knowledge of use of Microsoft Word and Excel Spreadsheets
· This role is subject to a DBS check, the level of DBS check will be determined at offer stage.
