Project Overview:The GIVO Project is an innovative initiative that addresses the challenge of plastic waste management in Nigeria by promoting a circular plastic economy. This involves engaging with stakeholders in the plastics value chain to gather insights that will inform the development of sustainable solutions.
Purpose of the Role: We are looking for a part-time Research Assistant to support the project by collecting quantitative data from stakeholders in the circular plastic economy in Nigeria. The role will involve scheduling and conducting virtual interviews and administering survey questions to gather key insights
Duties and responsibilities
- Schedule and conduct 15-30 minute virtual interviews with stakeholders from the circular plastic economy in Nigeria.
- Guide stakeholders through the provided survey questions to ensure accurate and complete responses.
- Maintain a clear record of interviews and survey results in the specified format.
- Coordinate with the research team to report progress and resolve any challenges in scheduling or data collection.
- Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines for data collection and stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare detailed reports, contribute to writing academic journal articles, and present progress to the research team and external stakeholders.
Skills and experience
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Currently undertaking a PhD (or equivalent level of experience) in a relevant discipline, such as Social Sciences, Economics, Environmental Science, or related fields.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders virtually.
- Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and reliability of collected data.
- Proficiency with virtual communication tools such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience in survey administration or stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with the principles of the circular economy and sustainability.

Benefits
The role is offered through Unitemps and will involve approximately 200 hours of work.
Flexible hours can be arranged to accommodate schedules, but availability for virtual interviews across different time zones may be required.
