Description

Role
We are looking for casual Teaching Assistants to join a school based in Maidstone. The successful candidate will work in a team of bank staff to support with staff absences within the school, you could be required to work in any area of the school and that could change on a daily basis. 

 
You have no normal hours of work and you will be required to work on an "as required" basis. Your hours will vary according to the needs of the School (and your availability to work) but you could be required to work a 6.5 hour shift at any time between the hours of 8.30am and 3.30pm, between Monday and Friday. The School will notify you of the days and hours that you will be required to work in advance of each assignment. 
The School is under no obligation to provide you with work, or to provide you with a minimum number of hours work each day or week.

Duties and responsibilities
You will assist and support the class lead with nurturing, developing and education of pupils, whilst maintaining professionalism. Other accountabilities include:

 
  • Teaching and learning 
  • Professional and personal conduct
  • Wellbeing on pupils
  • Knowledge and understanding
  • Effective communication and engagement with students, their families and carers and other professionals
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child
  • Child development - Take part in appropriate trips to support the child with school
  • Multi - agency working - Know the value and expertise you bring to a team and that brought by your colleagues.
  • Sharing information - Provide feedback, as requested, to the class teacher or other appropriate person to support the planning and evaluation of the learning process in respect of groups and individual students.
  • Administration / other - Prepare and keep clean materials and undertake minor clerical duties.

Skills and experience
Successful candidates will either be:

  • Experienced and successful Teaching Assistants who enjoy team working and taking responsibility or have worked in a Special Needs or child-based environment. Alternatively, you may have a passion for special needs and looking for your first opportunity.
