Role
*Ringfenced to level 3 & 4 LJMU students only*

 
The project is based in the school of engineering and  aims to recruit six diverse engineering students to research and highlight lesser-known figures in math, physics, and engineering from underrepresented communities.  Interns will create A0 posters and educational activities about their chosen figures.

Duties and responsibilities
Each student will have 30 hours for research and producing a poster and activity. There will be a further 10 hours for collaboration with module staff on integrating the poster/activity into the curriculum. Supported by the academic engagement librarian, students will receive guidance and participate in ethical discussions to ensure the suitability of their subjects. The project includes a group induction and regular progress meetings, culminating in co-delivered sessions to student and outreach groups.

Skills and experience
The key skills required for the interns include:

Level 4 or Level 4 LJMU student. 
• Familiarity with the Engineering curriculum at levels 3 and/or 4. 
• Punctuality, good teamwork, and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm and interest in the project.• Data graphical representation, report writing, and oral presentation skills (these are desirable but will also be developed through the project).
