Inspired by punk, grunge and vintage style, Pretty Disturbia is a Manchester based brand created 15 years ago by Leesa Bertram for individuals who love oddity, uniqueness and all things alternative. We celebrate inclusivity and love to blur the line between gender roles in our designs, creating fashion for all without limits of who can or should wear what. With sustainability at the core of our values, all our pieces are hand made, hand dyed and hand sewn in our Manchester studio with nothing going to waste. We are a small business and therefore we would expect the intern to get involved in all aspects of the running of the business which may not necessarily be a part of their degree but it will expand their knowledge and skills and be invaluable experience for their CV. They will learn how a small fashion business operates day to day, how to put their knowledge and skills into practice, how to strengthen their personal skills, hands on practical education, build a professional network, develop new skills and enhance current ones alongside having an all rounded experience of the fashion industry.

Duties and responsibilities

• Trend research: creating mood/concept boards;
• Designing-men's and women's clothing; • Customising and/or making items from scratch including clothing and accessories;
• Experimenting with crafts and/or embellishment techniques;
• Styling for shoots :outfit of the day/street styling/making look sheets;
• Social Media, PR and Marketing including video marketing on TikTok / Instagram etc.
• Photography;
• Writing blog posts;
• Help organizing events such as clothes swapping parties and craft nights
• Organising samples / clothing;
• Listing items online and packing up orders.

Skills and experience
The person should be working towards or recently completed a relevant degree. They must have excellent organisational skills with strong communication skills, be able to work individually if working remotely but also work well with the wider team.

Location
Liverpool / Manchester
