About the Kit Hub: The Kit Hub is the Arts and Creative Industries Faculty’s specialized equipment loan store, supporting students by providing access to professional gear essential for their projects, from cameras and lighting to sound equipment. 

Role Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and punctual intern to assist with our front-of-house operations at the Kit Hub. This role includes providing equipment collection and return services to students, performing basic technical checks, and ensuring the smooth running of our loan system. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about film, media, or creative technology, looking to gain hands-on experience in equipment management. 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Front-of-House Service: Welcome students, manage equipment collection and returns, and ensure a friendly and professional front-of-house experience. 

  • Siso and Computer System Management: Use our Siso system and computer software to process loans and returns accurately. 

  • Equipment Technical Checks: Conduct routine checks on equipment such as cameras, lights, and sound gear to ensure items are functional and ready for use. 

  • Customer Service & Support: Provide guidance on equipment handling and answer basic queries about our inventory. 

  • Time Management & Reliability: Ensure punctuality and reliability, as this is a customer-facing role with scheduled operating hours. 

Skills and experience

Essential 

  • Familiarity with basic camera, lighting, and sound equipment, with the ability to conduct technical checks. 

  • Proficiency in computer usage. 

  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and commitment to punctuality. 

  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude. 

Desirable 

  • experience with Siso (or similar inventory software)
