The ACI Faculty Social Media Activity Auditor will consolidate and audit the social media activity of the Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries. The role will involve performing a comprehensive audit of current social media activities, developing a strategy for improved engagement, and setting up a consistent communications plan. This is a great opportunity for teams to collaborate with talented students, providing them with valuable real-world experience.
We are looking for an intern who is a confident and professional communicator with good organisational skills. This person might be studying arts or media management, event management, branding, PR, or communications-related subjects, such as graphic design, fashion communication and styling, photography, creative writing and journalism, digital media and comms, digital marketing, or any relevant discipline.
Overall, the successful candidate will demonstrate skill and enthusiasm in social media and communications strategy, a passion for engaging diverse audiences in the creative industries, and enjoy working in a collaborative and creative environment.
Duties and responsibilities

Audit Social Media Activity: Perform a comprehensive audit of the current social media activities within the ACI faculty.

Stakeholder Network Creation: Work with ACI staff to understand the scope of social media activities and identify key stakeholders within the faculty and the university. Ensure communications are attentive to equality, diversity, and inclusion across the faculty.

Social Media Strategy Development: Create a timeline and strategy for social media communications to maximise engagement and reach. Develop content plans across various platforms.

Content Creation: Work with colleagues across the faculty to highlight students, projects, programs, and events. Develop engaging and relevant content that promotes the faculty as a dynamic and creative community. Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Campaign Team, particularly the Marketing Officer, to ensure cohesive and effective promotional efforts.

Communications Coordination: Act as a conduit of information between the stakeholder network, ACI Faculty Leadership Office, and the central university communications team.

Project Management: Work with the university communications team to manage a communications timeline, ensuring consistent content before, during, and after the audit period.

Post-Audit Evaluation: Contribute to post-audit data analysis of the impact of the communications strategy. Evaluate which content had the most impact and with which audiences.

Reporting: Use OneDrive to store key documents and plans. Provide updates at committee meetings and produce a final report on the success of the communications strategy.

The intern will report to Claire Lewis, DoP for Graphic Design and Illustration, and will be supported by the Faculty Heads of Schools, Emma Dick (Design), Helen Bendon (Film), and Brian Inglis (Arts), and the Arts and Creative Industries Faculty Leadership Office.
There will be clear project briefings and support to set up workflows. One-to-one meetings will be organised with Claire Lewis for progress updates and support.
Training opportunities with respect to storing content (ACI Faculty Leadership Office) and editing workflow (Technical colleagues) will be provided. We will ask the MDX Social Media team to provide basic training to the successful candidate.
