Role

The Social Media and Digital Communications Intern will support the Faculty of Business & Law in building a stronger online presence, with a focus on creating engaging content that highlights faculty achievements, student activities, events, and research initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in social media strategy, content creation, and digital marketing, making it ideal for a student interested in enhancing their skills in social media, marketing, and communications. I will also allow the Intern to learn about topics related to Law, Criminology, Sociology and Business Studies.
Duties and responsibilities
Content Creation: Develop and curate content for LinkedIn and Instagram that showcases faculty accomplishments, student projects, upcoming events, and industry partnerships etc.
Engagement Strategy: Assist in developing a strategy to increase follower engagement and boost visibility for the faculty on social media platforms.
Platform Management: Regularly update and manage posts, stories, and event announcements on LinkedIn and Instagram, ensuring content aligns with the faculty’s goals.
Research and Analysis: Conduct basic research on trending topics, competitor accounts, and best practices for social media engagement in higher education.
Community Engagement: Actively respond to comments, messages, and mentions to develop a supportive online community.
Analytics and Reporting: Track social media metrics and provide regular insights on the performance of posts, engagement rates, and growth metrics.
Skills and experience
Essential
• Ability to communicate with professionals
• Interest in communications, copywriting, and digital marketing and enthusiastic to learn more about these areas
• Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Experience with the use of social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn and Instagram
• Comfortable working in a self-directed way as well as part of the team
• Ability to think creatively and outside the box
Desirable
• Studying in a relevant area such as business, criminology, sociology, law, marketing, digital marketing, branding or marketing communications
• Experience with copywriting such as blog, social media or web
