Role

The Lord Bhattacharyya Engineering Education Programme was established in March 2020 by the Royal Academy of Engineering. The programme delivers engineering-focused STEM education to a network of local schools and awards grants to students undertaking further and higher education engineering courses.

To support this work, WMG is seeking to appoint a qualitative research assistant to conduct a set of interviews, undertake analysis and write up the results. This role is to start as soon as possible and consists of 6 weeks work, which could be undertaken on a part time basis.

Duties and responsibilities

Research Tasks

  • Undertake basic research, preparing, setting up, developing questionnaires and conducting interviews.
  • Perform a qualitative analysis of the interview data.
  • Write up results, to produce a report presenting the results of the analysis.

Skills and experience

  1. Good honours degree or equivalent
  2. Experience in coordinating and conducting interviews
  3. Experience and competence in employing qualitative research methods
  4. Range of qualitative research skills
  5. Understanding of equal opportunities as they may impact on areas of research content
  6. Good communication (both written and oral)
  7. Ability to work within a team and autonomously
  8. Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  9. A flexible approach to working
