You will be based in the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences at LJMU. Your research will be supported by outstanding supervisors in both industry and academia, who will stimulate intellectual challenge, provide academic mentorship and help you reach your full potential.

Duties and responsibilities
The candidate will be a highly motivated researcher with excellent ability to work independently and in a team. You should have a background in microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry and/or molecular cell biology along with critical thinking and good organisational skills. You are expected to be able to set realistic goals/timelines and deliver work packages. It is a high profile project that requires data interpretation and communication via oral presentations to the team and report writing.

Skills and experience
Relevant degree disciplines include Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Science. 

 
Minimum lab experience: six months in a research lab.
 
Professional skills: basic microbiology techniques, microscopy, assay development, molecule characterisation, chromatography (TLC, HPLC), experiment design, data interpretation and communication.
 
Desirable skills: fermentation.
