Description

Role
*Ringfenced to LJMU students and recent graduates*

The annual, institutional Student Lifestyle and Health Survey explores the health and behaviour of LJMU students. The project team of academics and professional services staff are looking to employ a research assistant to support with data management and programming, and to enhance an existing Power BI Dashboard created to help visualise and explore the data.

The work will provide the appointed individual with experience of developing a business intelligence system and tool (i.e., the dashboard), advancing their skills in data cleaning and integration from Excel, data modelling, dashboard creation, data visualisation, and associated languages (e.g., Data Analysis Expression, Structured Query Language). They will develop their attention to detail, problem solving skills, time management, and ability to communicate with academics and professional services staff. The individual will join a supportive research community for a short period. Regular support meetings with the academics will ascertain progress and needs. We hope this increases the appointed individual's employability for posts such as a business intelligence developer or data scientist.

-Power BI Dashboard development: improve the existing dashboard based on user feedback; integrate data from the 2022 and 2024 survey into the dashboard.-Support academics on the project to write a user guide for the dashboard and deliver a demonstration of the enhanced dashboard to the project team and members of the Institute for Health Research.
