Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic, driven, and skilled Senior IT Technician to join their team during an exciting phase of IT Strategy and Development. Following the successful opening of two state-of-the-art academies in recent years, the focus is now on upgrading the technology infrastructure and client devices at their original academy site.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the implementation of cutting-edge technology across multiple sites, supporting teaching and learning through innovative cloud technologies. Duties and responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT equipment.
- Regularly service and test peripherals and classroom technology.
- Train staff on the effective use of equipment and software.
- Manage the booking and delivery of laptop trolleys and classroom devices.
- Ensure printers and copiers are functional and stocked daily.
- Assist staff and students with cloud-based applications (MS Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Perform repairs, liaising with manufacturers for warranty claims when necessary.
- Recommend new equipment purchases and write reports on repairs.
- Plan and conduct weekly line management meetings with IT Technicians.
- Contribute to academy events such as open days and evening activities.
- Produce regular IT service reports for the Director of Operations.
Skills and experience
Required:
- Excellent IT skills with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated, methodical, and able to work independently.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety in IT.
Desirable:
- Experience in ICT and Audio/Visual support.
- Technical expertise in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Windows 10/11, and Mac OS.
- Familiarity with networking technologies, Cisco/Cisco Meraki, and wireless systems.
- Experience in a school or educational environment.
- Proven ability to manage and develop a team.
