Role
The University of Staffordshire at looking to recruit an Accommodation Assistant to support the Residence Life Office by effectively acting as the first contact point for the Residence Life Team. 

 
You will be manning the reception desk, proactively responding to enquiries and managing all correspondence that comes in on behalf of the Residence Life Office. You will be interacting with a range of people from the students living in the accommodation, internal departments right through to external suppliers and contractors, ensuring all procedures are followed and safety is maintained at all times.  
 
Experience of working in a busy reception would be beneficial for the role.
 
 

Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to:

 
 - be the first point of contact for the ResLife Team, answering face to face queries, telephone calls, emails.
 - take charge of the day to day running of the reception area.
 - provide exemplary support and customer service assistance to a diverse range of customers, colleagues and visitors.
 - record and log any incidents or issues that arise and escalating to the appropriate level as required.
 - create a positive working environment, ensuring the office is well maintained, equipment is properly set up and all softwear is up to date.
 - any other duties related to the role

Skills and experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:

 - Highly developed organisational skills with experience of managing a range of important activities with the ability to prioritise, manage time and meet/deliver to deadlines with competing demands
 - Excellent digital & social media skills and have the ability to manage the ResLife online presence
 - Effective communication skills and the ability to engage with and enthuse people at all levels
 - Experience of using accommodation management systems with the ability to collate and analyse statistical data in an accurate and professional manner
 - Ability to set up events, activities, meeting, workshops, feedback sessions at flexible times to include nights, weekends and bank holidays
 - Effective communication skills
