LFC is working with LJMU and UniTemps to provide an opportunity for LJMU students to take advantage of the Discovery Internships Programme through a short-term 3 month placement within the Product Quality Assurance & Sustainability team.

The placement would be working alongside the Quality Assurance & Sustainability team who are based in Whiston, Liverpool.  The team are responsible for setting quality standards relating to retail merchandise, global product compliance, driving the sustainability strategy and mitigating product risk across our sales channels. 

 

Duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct strategic research relating to Global Packaging Compliance using the own brand retail product sales markets as the project framework.
  • Develop an understanding of packaging requirements across the full range of LFC own brand merchandise.
  • Deep dive into specific regions & territories to assess regulations. Create an activation strategy as part of a detailed proposal for the  QA team to review and implement in 2025.
  • Research into how other retailers comply in local and global regions.
  • Conduct a full review of our current own brand sustainable packaging solutions and identify potential gaps where further progress can be made.  Draft a proposal that would support the product sustainability strategy and Red Way targets for 2025.

Skills and experience

Requirements, Qualifications & Skills:

 

  • Technical minded individual who thrives on attention to detail.
  • A keen interest in general Product Compliance & Sustainability would be desirable.
  • Computer literate and highly proficient in MS Office software, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Dynamic and able to work in a fast paced and demanding environment.
  • Can work with confidential and sensitive information in a discrete manner.
  • Can work independently and with a 'can do' attitude.
  • An accomplished individual who thrives on exceeding expectations.
