LFC is working with LJMU and UniTemps to provide an opportunity for Year 2 and 3 LJMU students to take advantage of the Discovery Internships Programme through a short-term placement within the Communications Team.
The placement will be working with the Communications Team who are based in Liverpool. To work with members of the communications team and wider colleagues across the club focusing on promotion of the Women’s game and particularly around increasing attendance at both Anfield matches scheduled for March and May this season.
Duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research on trends, audience preferences, and competitor activities to inform communication strategies that will help grow attendance at Women’s games, particularly to Anfield matches.
- Content and ideas creation: Provide support in creating engaging content for various platforms, including social media, press releases, and the official website.
- Media Relations: Support with the development and maintenance of relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to promote women’s football.
- Event Support: Help organize and promote LFCW matches or events where needed
- Social Media support: Monitor social media accounts, understanding current engagement and where future opportunities for growth may lie.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the PR and Communications team, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining databases.

Skills and experience
Requirements, Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- Media awareness: good awareness and understanding of current news agenda around women’s football and sprots industry in general
- Passion for Women’s Football: Strong interest in and knowledge of women’s football and the sports industry.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages.
- Creativity: Ability to generate innovative ideas for promoting women’s football and engaging with diverse audiences.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute to team goals.
Essential Functional / Technical Skills:
- Social Media Proficiency: Familiarity with major social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and social media management tools.
- Analytical Tools: Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights) to track and report on campaign performance.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for creating documents, presentations, and reports.
