Medaille Trust is a charity which supports survivors of modern slavery and trafficking. We do this through our safe house accommodation, our outreach projects, casework support and group sessions. The role of volunteers in organisation is really important, they support with everything from gardening, to admin, sewing, group activities, translators and much more. The internship being offered is in the Engagement Team, which will be overseen by the Volunteer Coordinator. This will provide the Intern with experience of volunteer coordination, recruitment, retention and engagement, within the charity sector. This role is a remote opportunity, with regular meetings with the Volunteer Coordinator

Duties and responsibilities
* To work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and the engagement team where appropriate to develop knowledge and insight into Volunteer coordination. *To create volunteer role descriptions and make suggestions for improvement on current ones. 

* To review the volunteering section of the website and make suggestions for improvement. *To support with the volunteer recruitment process 
* Review training materials 
* Shadow and support at training sessions 
* Research university contacts 
* Research university and community fairs for the purpose of the organisation building links and holding stalls to raise awareness. * To create a calendar of dates and events where we can promote volunteering on social media. 
* Create newsletters 
* To attend meetings as appropriate 
* Support Volunteer Coordinator with admin tasks as required 
* To attend training sessions 
* To attend 121/supervision sessions
 

Skills and experience
* Understands and upholds confidentiality 

* To work within agreed professional boundaries 
* Reliable 
* Punctual 
* To be at least 18 years of age 
* Computer literate with own PC/Laptop and internet connection 
* Good standard of spoken and written English
* Knowledge of or willingness to learn about modern slavery and human trafficking 
* The ability to work under own initiative as it is a remote role 
* Willing to sign paperwork such as confidentiality agreement
