Description

Role

Are you passionate about human rights and social justice? Want to launch a career in international development? This position is a step into the world of global development and human rights, with a cutting-edge focus on digital rights and health. It is especially suited to someone seeking an entry-level opportunity to learn the landscape of global health and global development, make connections with international civil society groups, human rights and HIV activists, diplomats and United Nations officials; while learning the nuts and bolts of global development assistance projects, potentially leading to other international development opportunities.

This role provides administrative, financial, logistical and communications support to a multicountry research, policy and education project on digital health and human rights which is led by a consortium of civil society, academics, and networks of people living with HIV in low- and middle-income countries. The project uses a transnational participatory action research approach, with consortium members collaborating to study the experience of diverse young adults in digitization of health information and services, and engaging them to learn about and promote their rights.

The project is dynamic and fast-paced, with over forty active staff in different countries, including frequent meetings online and public speaking engagements. The International Research Project Assistant will support the project by providing logistical support to the project overall, to a Senior Project Manager, the Research team, and to the Principal Investigator. They will contribute to planning and implementing innovative research, to organising public events, and support the sharing of research findings and policy recommendations with the public through social media and outreach.

This assistant will be supervised by and work closely with the Senior Project Manager and the Principal Investigator of the project, as well as the Warwick research finance team.

  6. Assist in maintaining website content and executing social media and communications strategies developed by the consortium; track and maintain accurate records of project media exposure, as well as images and materials produced by the consortium.
  7. With oversight from PI and project manager, implement timely budgetary systems for effective financial monitoring of the Digital Health and Rights project.  This will entail the compilation of financial data, the provision of monthly expenditure reports and budgetary forecasts, and preparation of requests for approval of expenditures;
