CityVentures is City St George’s, University of London’s entrepreneurship service, that is aiming to establish a thriving startup ecosystem in the heart of London with a focus on social mobility. The 24/25 academic year will see new events and programmes to support entrepreneurial skills being developed by the local community as well as founders to launch successful businesses.

Duties and responsibilities

We are seeking a talented digital and content marketing freelancer to contribute to the City Ventures brand’s online presence. The primary task include attending some of the events we host to capture high-quality photos and videos, showcasing our activities and engagement with the audience. You will need to attend 3-4 events/month to get enough footage. 
 
The next task is to curate, enhance and edit the collected media to create high-quality, compelling, fun and engaging content that will be shared on our main social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok).
 
This role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and a strong understanding of how to tailor content for various channels to maximize engagement and reach. The ideal candidate will deliver fun and high-quality content that reflects our brand's voice and connects with our target audience.

Skills and experience

We are looking for someone who possess the following experience and skills:

• Photography and Videography Skills: Proven experience in capturing high-quality images and videos.

• Editing Proficiency: Expertise in using editing software (such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro) to enhance and polish photos and videos.

• Social Media Knowledge: Familiarity with various social media platforms (such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn) and an understanding of platform-specific content strategies.

• Creative Content Creation: Ability to craft engaging and visually appealing content that aligns with brand messaging and resonates with our target audiences.

• Event Coverage Experience: Prior experience attending and documenting events, with the ability to work in dynamic environments and capture authentic moments.

• Time Management and Organization: Strong organizational skills with ability to work with strict deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze social media performance metrics and suggest improvements to enhance content strategy.

Working pattern: Variable each week

Location: City Venture - Venture Space, Better Space or City/partner locations where we deliver events.
