Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the world-class Electrical & Electronic Engineering Department at the University of Surrey.

For this role you need a good knowledge of Electronics.

£14.94 per hour.

36 hours per week - part time may be considered. 

This is a temporary role and will continue in line with the business needs.

Duties and responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the EE undergraduate 2nd year laboratory and other associated spaces.

Within this exciting role you will play an important part in providing high quality technical support and customer service to our student and academic cohort. This includes maintaining a safe working environment for students and staff in our laboratories by following our Health & Safety policies and working procedures and ensuring general tidiness and cleanliness of all lab areas.

Skills and experience

An ONC, HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject such as Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Computing is advantageous.

You should be an excellent communicator, with outstanding IT skills in Office 365 and a proven ability to work with people. You will be responsible for setting up lab experiments, maintaining stocks of components. Additional responsibilities include the operation of both the Laser Cutter and 3D printer and helping support users in these areas and some manual handling is involved within this role.
