Role

Do you have a passion for creating engaging content for social media and websites? If you are currently studying at University College Birmingham and would love the opportunity to share your positive experience with others, then this may be the role for you. The University's Marketing department is looking to recruit a team of Digital Content Creators to showcase UCB's unique community, as well as their own student journeys, through videos, photos, blogs and podcasts. If you are a creative student who has a real enthusiasm for all things social and can bring fun and exciting content to the University's social media platform, then please apply for the role.

Duties and responsibilities

- Create engaging digital content that can be shared across multiple social media platforms and the University website.

- Cover requested events such as open days/Freshers' week on social media platforms and producing content such as blogs and podcasts to be used on the website.

- Attend digital meetings to contribute ideas to the digital content calendar. Offer suggestions that may highlight the best social media and digital activity to appeal to students.

- Post content via the University's social media management platform, ready for approval and validation.

- Be the face of University College Birmingham official's social media channels and confidently navigate online interaction with students.

- Be a positive representation of University College Birmingham

Skills and experience

Previous experience in the following areas is preferred:

- Video production and basic editing

- Social media

- Creative writing/copywriting

UCB Campus and remote

Additional information

Must be a current UCB student and studying a marketing course.

This role would include mandatory meetings once a week for the first month which would also be a part of your training. After the first month, the meetings would occur fortnightly to establish content for key campaigns, events and online activity.

Alongside the meetings, you would be required to allocate 3 hours per week for social media content/activity, which would result in maximum 12 hours per month.
