Description
Role
Our client work in partnership with clients and stakeholders to research and develop innovative solutions. They are an ethical, impact driven not profit-driven, UK-based, software research and development company.
They are looking for a new member to join their software research and development team, they want to find someone who is up for getting involved in all aspects of software development. From discovery, design, prototyping, to development, infrastructure deployment, and final release.
The salary for this position is £28,000 for a full time position. Remote work is available with occasional meetings in the Keele office or a suitable location, especially during training.
The company are open to students to apply for part time hours.
Duties and responsibilities
This would be an ideal skill set, however these are not a requirement, they would be happy if candidates could express some knowledge in a few areas but most importantly show an eagerness to learn and show confidence in their ability.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used in development (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, etc.).
- Understanding of software development principles and best practices.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices for automating software development, testing, and deployment processes.
Skills and experience
- Knowledge of Git fundamentals, including commits, branches, tags, and remotes.
- Familiarity with Git hosting platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members using Git.
- Knowledge of Git commands for repository management, such as git clone, git pull, git push, git commit, git checkout, etc.
- Knowledge of deploying and managing cloud-based applications on AWS.
- Experience with core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and VPC.
- Understanding of AWS networking concepts, including Route 53, VPC, and security groups.
- Ability to monitor and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure using CloudWatch and other monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of AWS security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance.
