We are seeking a dedicated Membership Service Assistants to join our team. These roles offer flexible part-time positions, ideal for individuals looking to balance work with other commitments.

  • Hours: 10 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, between 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM - one of days you will be expected to work is Tuesday. 

We are looking for 1 x individuals to provide administrative support to the Student Voice team of the DSU

In this role, you will assist these teams and contribute to the overall efficiency of the department by handling a range of administrative tasks and supporting collaborative initiatives

Duties and responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all students, staff, and visitors of the DSU.
  • Serve as the front-of-house representative and manage the inbox triage for students with general inquiries related to the Membership Services department.
  • Assist with booking requests for activities organized by DSU student volunteers.
  • Support departmental events, including "Give It A Go" activities, Student Council meetings, and Wellbeing Wednesdays.
  • Direct students to appropriate resources and assistance via telephone, email, or in-person interactions.
  • Maintain electronic student records in compliance with GDPR regulations.
  • Create and manage documents, spreadsheets, and databases utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
  • Contribute to key Union events, including but not limited to Freshers' Week and Elections.

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience in delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and complete a variety of administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Skilled in handling sensitive situations with individuals, consistently exhibiting empathy and understanding.
  • Knowledge of client confidentiality and data protection regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficient in communicating effectively through various channels, including face-to-face interactions, telephone conversations, and email correspondence.
  • Strong IT skills, with experience in utilizing Microsoft Office applications for creating and managing spreadsheets, presentations, and documents.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective under pressure.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to adjust to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Awareness of and respect for cultural differences, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all individuals.
