Role
Our client is searching for an Assistant Operations Manager (Property). Primarily based at the Circuit office at Warwickshire Methodist Church. The office serves a ‘Circuit’ of a dozen Methodist Churches located throughout South Warwickshire. 

The role is 25 hours. 5 days a week. A flexible pattern of working time can be negotiated. 
Days: Monday - Friday. Hours: Approx. 09:30-15:00
 
This is a Temporary to Permanent position for the right candidate.

Duties and responsibilities
Act as the Lettings Officer for the Circuit churches as appropriate: 

  • Marketing the church properties in order to increase the potential for lettings income.
  • Maintaining good relationships with existing users
  • Co-ordinating bookings and having oversight of the Licensing Agreements for those churches accessing extra support from the Circuit. 
  • Supporting Local Lettings Secretaries in gaining competence in using a booking system and completing Online Licence Agreements.
  • To assist the twelve churches of the South Warwickshire Methodist Circuit in the management of their properties through the development of planned maintenance schedules and engaging trades people. 

Where a property is fully managed by the Circuit:

  • To act as Lettings Officer: To include marketing, administration, and invoicing. 
  • To liaise with our long term lettings providing a first point of contact for queries and requests.
  • To co-ordinate all maintenance and repairs of  these buildings  (as directed by the Circuit Operations Manager).
  • Working with the Circuit Operations Manager to compile and present the Property Report to the Circuit Trustees and Leadership Team.
  • Liaising and providing information to other Circuit Office holders including the Circuit Treasurer.
  • Assist the local Property teams to engage with trades people in regards to emergency / urgent repairs.
  • To hold and share knowledge of recommended trade people.
  • To explore options for reducing property related costs, for example negotiating with trades people and utilities companies on behalf of the Circuit and its churches.
  • Support the Circuit Operations Manager and Circuit Stewards in the management of the Circuit Manses when the Operations Manager is unavailable. 
  • Any other duties and responsibilities identified by the Circuit Operations Manager as are within your capabilities and level of responsibility, in order to meet the mission of the Circuit.  

Skills and experience

  • Experience in operations management (desired)
  • Experience in property leasing (desired)
  • Problem solver
  • Able to think on feet and use initiative
  • Experience in using email communication, website management & social media.
  • Sensitivity and understanding of the environment and the work of the Methodist Church.
  • Driver (Essential)
