Role

CADRE is the Centre for Arts Doctoral Research Excellence at Warwick University. We seek two Graduate Teaching Assistants to help facilitate our fortnightly skills workshops for Arts PGRs. You will report to the CADRE Director, Professor David Lambert, and the Arts Faculty’s Doctoral Training Manager Lisa Millard.

The workshops will be held in person on alternate Tuesdays during term time, from 11.00-13.00. Light refreshments will be provided for facilitators and attendees.

For each workshop, you will either be assisting the facilitator leading the session or, in some cases, leading the session yourself. The contract of 45 hours includes :

10 CADRE workshops (20 hours) and some preparation time (20 hours).

Supporting the Midlands4Cities Application Writing Workshop on Saturday 9th November 2024 for 3 hours plus 2 hours preparation time (5 hours)

Duties and responsibilities

  • Presence at fortnightly workshops
  • Leading some workshops
  • Planning some workshop content
  • Reporting to David Lambert and Lisa Millard

Skills and experience

Essential Criteria

  • Recently completed or nearly completed a PhD in an Arts discipline
  • Experience of teaching in a Higher Education setting (undergraduate and/or postgraduate)
  • Available for in-person facilitation on Tuesdays and one Saturday (as indicated above)
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent networking skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Hold AFHEA or FHEA status (or be in the process of undertaking a teaching qualification, such as APP:PGR, which leads to AFHEA/FHEA status)
