Our client are looking for an Apprenticeship Coach to work within its busy Apprenticeship Team. The successful candidate will, through coaching and assessment, support learners to work confidently, effectively and independently in life and work as part of their rail apprenticeship programme.  

The location for this position is Stafford, with some national travel. Salary for this position is £28,500.00
The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS background check

Duties and responsibilities

  • Planning individual learning to meet learner needs.
  • Developing knowledge, skill, behaviours and confidence of each learner through coaching, training and assessment, supporting learners’ ability to work confidently, effectively and independently in life and work as part of the apprenticeship programme.
  • Supporting the implementation and development of functional skills with learners
  • Working collaboratively with all parties using verbal and well written reports to ensure accurate and timely progress reviews are completed.
  • Regularly quality checks and maintain on OneFile the ‘off the job’ training records and ensure learners achieve a minimum 20% of apprentices paid hours.
  • Regularly assess learner progress to awarding organisation, End Point Assessment and Ofsted/CIF criteria and report as required
  • Taking an active part in team meetings
  • Achieving CIRO and individual KPI’s

Skills and experience

  • Has experience of working with diverse groups of people
  • Can work to deadlines/targets and under pressure
  • Has excellent communication skills both written and verbal and IT skills
  • Has strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Can work flexibly and have a creative approach to meeting target
  • Can encourage high levels of interaction and achievement
  • Can build successful relationships with other staff, learners and third parties
  • Has is motivated to encourage learners to have high aspirations and pride in their work
  • Is organised & has a professional approach
  • Is educated to degree level
Desirable skills:
  • Experience in coaching a mixed level of Apprentices, ideally Level’s 3 – 5
  • Level 5 coaching qualification (or will undertake this training)
  • Coaching or teaching experience
  • A solid understanding of Apprenticeship frameworks
  • Experience in the rail sector or similar
