Applications are invited for Careers Student Blogger

The Careers and Employability Service are looking for enthusiastic students from across the university (from the faculties of arts, engineering, MHS, science, and social sciences) to write for our Careers blog.

The post will give you the opportunity to share your experiences in planning your future. Applications are welcome from all year groups from first-year to postgraduate researchers. Of the 4 posts, one will be a postgraduate researcher (PGR) If you're not sure what you want to do in the future or have a few ideas, we'd like to hear from you.

To apply: Applicants will need to send a copy of their CV and covering letter PLUS a 300-word blog post about their current career thinking

End Date:30/06/2025

Working Hours: 2.5 hours per week

Location:  University of Nottingham/wfh

Dress Code: smart casual

Duties and responsibilities

You need to write a 500-word blog post once a month. You can write anything careers-related, such as your work experiences, applying for jobs, choosing your career, or any other topic that may fit your situation. As long as it’s related to careers we want to read it! We may also ask you to write about specific topics. Sharing your experiences will help others with their career planning

Skills and experience

  • Ability to write engaging copy that is relevant to current students
  • An excellent standard of written English.
  • Ability to manage your time and work towards a deadline.
  • Engaged in career planning
  • Previous experience in writing articles or blog posts is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of WordPress would be useful, but not essential as training will be provided.
