Role
We have an exciting placement opportunity for someone to support the on campus ResLife team’s social media presence. You will be capturing and making content daily and be very much focused on video and imagery. You will be a forward-thinking storyteller and have an in-depth understanding of using social media to enhance our on-campus community and support an increased engagement with residents living in university managed accommodation. 

 
This role is perfect for someone looking for an opportunity to work with a diverse and creative team to support their on-campus community. 
Main priorities:
1)    Create a unique and inspiring social media, with the goal of introducing ResLife to new and existing residents, including pre arrival content. 
2)    To support the ResLife team in the growth of engagement via social media. 
3)    Engage with our student community to lead and participate in our content to build its relevance to the intended audience.
4)    To respond to private messages and comments, while protecting the University’s brand image.
5)    To support ResLife’s marketing by creating a wide range of effective video content that is distributed widely.
6)    Supporting the wider ResLife team including working during ResLife events and at university Open Days.
7)    Produce content pre-scheduled by the ResLife team, to increase awareness and engagement within the on-campus community.
8)    Understand all our channels / social media platforms (and be on top of trends), to ensure content is captured and distributed in the most engaging and cost-effective way.
9)    Be confident posting/scheduling content yourself.
10)    Work with and liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required.
11)    Proof and check selected content (i.e. text, graphics, imagery, audio and video).
 
You must be a home fees Staffordshire University student, completed Level 5 and be eligible for a placement to be considered for this role.
 

Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will be working on:

• Develop engaging content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms. 
• Monitor social media channels and engage with the target audience
• Create a series of brand templates for social media and video that can be used where required.
• Have experience in using programs such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva
• Be responsible for shooting, editing and delivering a steady stream of video content across our digital platforms. You’ll also be able to turn your hand to photography and graphics.
• Be a great visual storyteller, capturing video 
• Capture videos to support story telling across the community.
• Be happy getting out and about across our sites to shoot the best footage you can, including coverage of our internal events
• Support content for the university’s YouTube channel and ensure it presents up-to-date and relevant video content.
 

Skills and experience
We are hoping to find someone with:

•    Knowledge/ skills in designing content for social media including videos, graphics, and photos.
•    Existing presence on social media platforms that can demonstrate experience.
•    Lived experience of on-campus community

You must be a home fees student to be eligible for this role.

 
You must have completed Level 5 and be eligible for a placement year on your Staffordshire University Degree course.
