Concierge and Membership Support

Applications are invited for Concierge and Membership Support roles within the David Ross Sports Village  at the University of Nottingham.

The role will proactively promote the University of Nottingham sport and fitness membership scheme.

Start Date: 23/09/2024

 End Date: 13/10/2025 Working Hours: 0-25 hours per week Location: University campus

Dress Code: Smart casual

Duties and responsibilities

Duties will include:

  • Offer a warm and professional welcome to prospective UoN sport members.
  • Dealing with new membership sales and enquiries.
  • Undertaking facility tours.
  • Queue Busting, reduce waiting times at front of house
  •  Assisting registration and welcome fairs; acting as a point of contact, information and advice at University Park, Jubilee and Sutton Bonington where required.
  • Some roles may involve a physical presence at the facility to provide sales information, administration, and que management.
  • Update existing databases with new information. Follow data confidentiality processes.
  • Receiving, unpacking and arranging new shipments from suppliers. Arranging and labelling goods in the display shelves.
  • Processing customer payments at the checkout point/till. Cash management, counting cash/card transactions and recording it.
  • Providing shopping advice and recommendations to customers.
  • Ensuring the shop is fully stocked, ready for the next day of sales.

Skills and experience

  • Ability to perform repetitive task with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to relate well to students, staff, public and other members regardless of age, gender and physical ability.
  • Have a good knowledge/experience of UoN sport facilities
  • Excellent customer service skills. Ability to communicate and interact with members.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • A strong ability to work using one’s own initiative.
  • Maintaining a professional image at all times.
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally when under pressure.
  • Experience of working on a reception desk or in a customer service environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
