Role
Working as part of the team within EBS/SoSS, you will help make the Sunbelt 2024 conference happen and create a great experience for participants. The conference is taking place between 24-30 June and we will have a pre-conference gathering for an induction (date and time TBC). Working hours will be set between 8 am - 8 pm, on a rotational basis. The duties and responsibilities listed are not exhaustive, however, we want to ensure you have a positive experience too. Duties and responsibilities
- pre-conference assist with putting up signs throughout the venue
- provide a warm, professional, friendly welcome to conference participants
- setting up the registration desk with badges and information for conference attendees
- manage information/registration desk and coordinate with other team members
- provide general information at the info/help desk (such as schedules, direction, general info)
- assist with registration, resolving any issues directly or contacting the event manager or other team member
- give directions and help with organizing signage placement/schedule for each room with sessions each day in coordination with Event Manager and support team
- ensure presenters have all the necessary information about logistics, schedules or anything else at the time of registration to ensure a smooth and pleasant conference experience
- coordinate with presenters, assist with any technical needs
- provide timekeeping support by ensuring all presentations stay within the allocated time
- setting up rooms for sessions, checking equipment is working, placing/replacing instruction sheets in the rooms
- pay special attention to keynotes, making sure they are supported
- maintain clear communication with other team members
- assist with some venue set-up/clear-out when necessary to ensure the conference areas are clean and organized

- excellent communicational skills
- basic technical skills (knowledge of PC, laptop and peripherals)
