Role
The successful candidate will work with Dr Alison Gardner and Dr Hannah Wilkinson to understand how students in SSP are engaging in paid work, the nature of that work, the impact on studies and student life, and connections to future work and employability

Duties and responsibilities

  • To meet regularly with supervisors (online or face to face) in order to plan and undertake the research;•
  • Undertake a literature review examining existing literature and evidence on the nature and impacts of paid work for students in the UK. This will include identifying key academic literature, grey literature such as policy reports, news articles etc;
  • Promote take-up of a survey and focus groups on work for current SSP students, utilising social media platforms, and other existing networks.
  • Assist with analysis of survey results and focus group data;
  • Assist in drafting a final report.

Skills and experience
This post is suitable for third year undergraduates, Masters and PhD students studying a social science subject.
