We are looking for an intern who would describe themselves as coming from background of care or estrangement from their family at any point during their life. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a resource/guide for Student  Futures staff in order to inform them of the characteristics and disposition of students from a care experienced or estrangement from family. The intern will provide information on best practice in engaging with and supporting students through their career journey at and beyond university.   

This resource could also form the foundations for the intern to present directly to the Student Futures team and create the grounding for further co-creation opportunities working with students directly.

 
 

Duties and responsibilities
- To co-create (in collaboration with Student Futures staff) a resource in the form of a report or guide that provides information on the characteristics and challenges of care experienced and estranged students;

- Be willing and available to present findings to the wider Student Futures team;
- To explore and annotate a range of resources relevant to care experienced and estranged students during their experience in Higher Education; and,
- Be willing to discuss and collaborate with internal and external contacts both their experiences and practice related to care experienced and estranged students.

Skills and experience
We are looking for students who:-

 describe themselves as care experienced and estranged students;
- can demonstrate creativity, effective communication skills and the ability to research and produce content (e.g. report, information guide and presentation slides, etc.); and,
- have a desire to inform Student Futures staff on the experiences of care experienced by creating accessible and effective resources that will in turn help other students.
