Role
Our Business School have developed a placement opportunity for a current level 5 student to work alongside the Apprenticeship Co-ordinator and Course Director, to complete a research project, liaising with employers locally and nationally, to highlight relevant industries that require/would like a specific apprenticeship standard being developed in line with Government agendas and Levelling up etc.  Areas of market research will stem from the school’s current road map and will entail research to confirm whether the industry would benefit from the launch of the apprenticeships identified as possibilities for 25/26 launch.

Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will be supporting the team to work on:

•    To conduct market research, liaising with employers to identify valuable knowledge, skills and behaviours that specific industries would benefit from.
•    To present data and trends outlining the findings of the research. 
•    Assist in the identification of possible apprenticeships that have been plotted on the road map for the Business School. 
•    Attend events locally whereby skill shortages have been identified and will be discussed. 
•    Maintain brand voice.
•    To develop and curate relevant research methods that are appropriate for the purpose. 
•    Liaise and coordinate with the Course Leaders and experts in given subject matters. 
•    Raise awareness of the university and its brand. 
•    Promote Staffordshire Business School and leadership and management. apprenticeships at Staffordshire University.
 

Skills and experience

Essential skills:

•    Knowledge and understanding of market research. 

•    Organised. 

•    Meticulous.

•    Team Player and can work on own initiative. 

Desirable:

•    Previous experience of market research.

•    An understanding of current Government priorities and levelling up agenda. 

•    Has an understanding of apprenticeship standards. 

Person specification

•    Has experience of researching. 

•    Has an eye for detail, is well organised and enjoys analysing data. 

•    Has good communication skills and enjoys speaking to external customers to gain knowledge and understanding of requirements.
