We have a placement opportunity to join our Academic Quality and Development team here at Staffordshire University as an Asset Artist. The Asset Artist will be instrumental in the design and creation of a Digital Application focused on designing simulations on PC to then be played in VR.

The successful candidate will be responsible for attending design meetings, assist in planning features and capturing and creating assets for an all in one application that instructors can use to make immersive simulations on a PC to be played through in VR.

The focus of this role will be building the assets the instructor (PC) can pull into the building tool and are then displayed to the student (in VR) utilising Blueprint and Unreal Engine.

You will work closely with the Simulation Software Developer to implement your created assets into the tool.


Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidate will be: 
•    Responsible for photorealistic asset development.
•    Work with a range of stakeholders.
•    Working collaboratively within a team.
•    Building experience of bespoke asset creation and adapting 3D/LIDAR scans.
•    Additional experience of Art design outside of the games industry.
•    Working alongside a software developer.

Skills and experience

You will need to have/be: 
•    Confident with Blueprint & Unreal Engine.
•    Knowledge of (or willing to learn) 3D/LIDAR scanning.
•    3D Asset Modelling.
