Role
Ambassadors will be working from Adam Smith's Panmure House located in central Edinburgh to support the delivery of our Edinburgh Festival Fringe programme. Panmure House is part of the Edinburgh Business School and School of Social Science, Heriot-Watt University. As an Ambassador, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of our Fringe programme and will be responsible for ensuring our audiences have a positive experience when visiting Panmure House. General duties will involve customer service, front of house and box office, and bar service. 

 
We are looking for people who are outgoing, friendly & professional with a proactive attitude. We are seeking Ambassadors who are punctual & reliable, calm under pressure and a team player ready to get stuck in.

Duties and responsibilities

Ambassadors are expected to engage with the general public with responsibilities including but not limited to: 

  • Greeting and stewarding guests 
  • Box office duties: scanning and selling tickets 
  • Bottle bar service 
  • Merchandise sales 
  • Performance leafleting 

Paid one day training will be provided, including: 

  • Mandatory Scottish Licensing and Bar Training 
  • Fire and Evacuation Training -
  • Front of House and Box Office

Skills and experience
Essential experience: 

  • Customer service 
  • Cash and card payment handling 
Preferred but not essential experience: 
  • Front of House and basic Box Office 
  • Experience working in the Edinburgh Fringe 
  • Interest in Edinburgh and its History 
Candidates should supply their own black skirt or trousers, smart dark shoes, Panmure House t-shirt will be provided.
