Role
You will be working for an events company, who specialise in award ceremonies. You will be working to help to sell hospitality tables to clients who will be attending these events.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong sponsorship pipelines while securing suitable paid sponsorship for all awards events
  • Nurture existing sponsors and encourage sponsorship renewal while also seeking new sponsors
  • Draft sponsorship agreements to suitably reflect the agreed terms and follow up for signature and payment when required
  • Stay in close contact with sponsors to ensure they are receiving the full value of their sponsorship
  • Liaise with each sponsor to ensure they are engaged with the event they are sponsoring and, where possible, encourage them to use their database to promote entry into the awards
  • Ensure each sponsor provides all deliverables correctly and in a timely fashion. This includes sourcing company logos and profiles for inclusion on the sponsors page of the website, any sponsors branding on the day of an event and any artwork to the correct spec for winners book ads
  • Work across a suite of business awards projects to oversee growth in awareness, engagement and overall value of each project
  • Appreciate that each awards project is at a different stage of growth and tailor the support you give accordingly
  • Attend various sector exhibitions as and when required
  • Set up new partnerships (including with media partners, sector supporting partners, PR partners, nominated charities) and draft agreements as required
  • Review and nurture any existing partnerships on various awards projects and update or modify agreements when necessary
  • Work with the event managers to grow the different awards projects, including passing on information and contacts which you feel could lead to a potential entry
  • Use LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter) to build contacts in the various sectors the awards events cover
  • Use LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter) to help promote the various awards, particularly during the call for entry, when the finalist companies are announced and during the period of the actual awards event.

Skills and experience

  • To use initiative, identifying good potential sponsors and consider the best approach (by phone, email or LinkedIn) to elicit a positive response
  • An understanding and ability to use computers and the software generally used in an office environment, including but not limited to email, Word, Excel, and Google Docs
  • (Stratford Projects is a Mac-based company)
  • Excellent written English and an ability to write to a high standard, providing copy for magazines, websites, email shots, and agreements between sponsors, media partners and others
  • A LinkedIn profile you are happy to use as a ‘business’ profile representing the company
  • An ability to use LinkedIn, X and other social media
  • Good interpersonal skills, including face to face, on the telephone and on video calls.

Additional information

  • Mainly office-based in Stratford upon Avon 
  • Monday to Friday, at least 40 hours per week, during the hours 8am to 6pm
  • Occasionally required to work at an alternative location (eg. at an awards event or a trade show) and during hours differing from those above
  • Due to the nature and timing of some trade shows, the various awards lunches and dinners, and other events this may include occasional evening and weekend work, for which time in lieu can be offered.
