Description

Role
The UoN Sports Participation Programme is designed to increase the engagement and participation of students in physical activity, volunteering and inclusive sport. Under this umbrella, successful Ambassadors will be appointed to a specific programme 

Successful candidates will be part of a small but integral team, driving forward the provision and profile of participation sport at the University of Nottingham.
This team will receive substantial support from UoN Sport full time staff as well as individual personal development programmes.
This exciting role would be ideal for pro-active individuals, looking to gain real transferable experience for the workplace

Duties and responsibilities

·  Develop and implement an inclusive/welfare campaign across the UoN Sport rugby programmes;

·  Develop and coordinate a player welfare support group;

·  Coordinate a programme of training and developmental opportunities;

·  Promote opportunities and encourage engagement across the rugby programmes;

·  Work with the team to implement and further develop volunteering opportunities with local and external partners;

·  Monitoring, reporting and evaluation of work programmes.

Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate/postgraduate at University of Nottingham (E)
• Minimum of 1 year remaining on degree course (E)
Knowledge:
• Understanding of the barriers to participation in sport and possible solutions (E)
• Knowledge of the physical, mental, and social benefits of participating in sport and physical activity (E)
• Knowledge of key University marketing networks, e.g. Students’ Union, International Students, hall structure. (E)
• Knowledge of the different UoN Participation Sport programmes (D)
• Knowledge of the Social Model of disability and Equality Act 2010 (D)
Skills:
• Strong communication skills, with ability to tailor approach to target audience (E)
• Confident IT user, including Office (E)
• Report writing and presentations (E)
• Design skills, e.g. Adobe Photoshop (D)
• Management of social media channels (D)
Attributes:
• Passionate about sport for all (E)
• Creative and innovative approach (E)
• Strong team player (E)
• Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative (E)

Benefits
The pay rate for this role is £11.76 per plus £1.42 holiday pay per hour
