This is an exciting opportunity to join the Staffordshire University ResLife team as a Residential Services Engagement Lead. They are looking for individuals passionate about creating the best University experience for residents.

The ResLife Engagement Lead will offer support, guidance, and advice within ResLife, including supporting the development of marketing plans for engaging with current residents and the creation of resident communications. The role will demonstrate and communicate the university’s values and mission with the existing and prospective community.

 

The role will support with raising awareness of the department’s services and communicate with various stakeholders and provide information when required. The role will organise community led events or programmes for the on-campus residents and ensure the department, ResLife, has a visual presence at relevant activities and events.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Create and coordinate an engaging calendar of events and activities for residents in university accommodation, promoting a vibrant community on campus
  • Working with the ResLife team, particularly the RLAs, develop the action plans for ResLife events, activities and coordinate ideas and suggestions to bring the activities to life
  • Collaborate with the Residential Support Coordinators on their ideas for wellbeing activities and events and assist with creating action plans and the delivery of the plans
  • To ensure that sufficient risk assessments are in place for Reslife activities taking place
  • Coordinate, order and ensure sufficient resources are available for ResLife activities and events to take place
  • To ensure financial policies are adhered to in the ordering of resources to support the smooth operation of resident engagement
  • Under the direction of the Accommodation Officer and Residential Services Coordinator liaise with the relevant teams to support a ResLife presence on social media channels 
  • Develop and share the ResLife programme of events utilising and promoting the ResLife portal and other channels to increase visibility of ResLife activities
  • Liaise regularly with relevant teams, societies, and individuals to coordinate events and activities plans to present the richest possible community programme
  • Plan and attend regular meetings with the ResLife and wider university teams where required, to ensure clear communication of upcoming events, set expectations and requirements, and ensure that any necessary training for events or event related equipment is actioned
  • Collect and monitor event feedback to maintain an engaged programme of resident focused activities
  • Support the Residential Services Coordinator is collecting student feedback on the broader accommodation experience by planning semesterly feedback sessions into the programme of events and activities
  • Support the Head of Residential Services and the Residential Services Coordinator in creating and delivering the ResLife marketing strategy and business delivery plans
  • Support the coordination and delivery of open days and offer holder days
  • Any other duties, commensurate with the role.

Skills and experience

  • Proven track record of devising and producing programmes of engaging and innovative activities at a HE organisation
  • Proven track record of engaging relevant audiences
  • Experience of building valuable and effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including event suppliers, sponsors, colleagues and volunteers/ students
  • Experience and knowledge of coordinating and delivering events
  • Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Ability to use social media
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Genuine enthusiasm and a commitment to providing good customer service
