Role

Unitemps are recruiting for a Research Assistant in Economics for the Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction. This role is for a June 1st start date and has a projected end date of July 19th 2024. This a part-time role with hours per week varying but 23 hours in total across the whole working period (average 3-4 hours per week). Payment is set at £19.62 + holiday pay per hour. This role will be UCL home based working (with regular meetings requiring attendance).

UCL Insitute for Risk and Disaster Reduction (IRDR), UCL Institute for Global Health (IGH) and Peking University China (PKU) are collaborating on a project to investigate the effectiveness of China’s heatwave adaptation policies with funding received from the UCL-PKU Global Health Funding call. 

You will be working with Dr. Rozana Himaz (IRDR), Dr. Francesco Salustri (IGH) and Prof. Jolene Skordis (IGH).

Duties and responsibilities

We are seeking an enthusiastic Research Assistant who can conduct a rapid literature review based on economics and related literature on high temperature policies and their effectiveness at mitigating health-risks.

Skills and experience

  • A PhD student (or post-graduate student with equivalent research experience) with a background in economics or related discipline;
  • Evidence of conducting rapid literature reviews (desirable); 
  • Keen interest in climate change and/or heatwave adaptation policies (desirable).

UCL; home based working (with regular online meetings attendance required)
