Description
Role
- To assist, support and ‘shadow’ the Newham Plays Producer in helping organise, arrange and ensure the smooth running of the sixth instalment in the Newham Plays: Myrninterest: The Outside/Inside Life of Madge Gill. The intern will work closely with a creative team made up of writer, director, designer, actors, stage management, chaperones, young people.
Duties and responsibilities
- Initiating and overseeing social media marketing/publicity
- Liaising with Young Person's Play Co-ordinator in ensuring engagement with local young people
- Supporting the Director and Producer in arranging auditions/casting and liaising with agents
- Supporting the Producer in arranging contracts for creative personnel
Skills and experience
- Essentials
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- organisational skills, with a good eye for detail
- knowledge of, and an interest in, the arts
- ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, meet deadlines and manage a number of projects at the same time and with accuracy
- excellent IT skills, chiefly social media/digital content creation
- administrative skills and ability to work to budgets
- Desirable:
- experience of arts administration/promotion
- living in London
